Social Media Marketing (SMM) refers to the process of using social media sites (ex. Facebook, Twitter, etc.) to reach out to social media users and attract attention to a business/cause. This form of marketing arose from the desire to capitalize on the increasing amount of user activity on these sites to raise business awareness.
